Dinosaurs were vegetarians, whaaaaaa??

Hmmmmm. On the one hand, I support vegetarianism, especially in insane dinosaur/human ark co-habition scenarios. On the other, I do not support those wacky Creationists, even if they have procured awesome animatronic-raptor technology. I'm so conflicted!!

"Some exhibits show dinosaurs aboard Noah's Ark and assert that all animals were vegetarians until Adam committed the first sin in the Garden of Eden."

Adam, you jerk. So you're the reason I can't get a good veggie burger in Japan!

I found another Americatown restaurant in Fukuoka. That makes two!

Tani-san and the Mandolin Club Concert

Tani-san is my friend. This is his mandolin club.

Genkaijima II. East

Friendly Japanese people are the best.

One of the three beautiful rocks surrounding Genkaijima.

I went up there.

What would ever possess someone to climb this?

Possibly, the fact that it is awesome.

Best spot for a picnic.

There is an excellent view.

Look who I found at the top of the mountain.

Displaying my talent for making ridiculous faces and photographing myself in the process.

Genkaijima

I think it's awesome that my camera can shoot straight into the sun.

Genkaijima

There was a massive earthquake on the island a few years ago. There don't seem to be any houses (left?), but a temporary town has been set up and there are these huge earthworks going up on the side of the island. I think that they're terracing the whole area to build a new town, which is pretty sweet, in a Governors Island kind of way. I assumed that it was some ultra-wealthy enclave, but Hori-sensei says not.

Tiny man = giant car

The logic is unstoppable! You can not defeat it.

I do not think that this thing can even fit on half of the streets in Japan (*_* ) ...?

Oh hey Venom you`re a little late, yeah it`s cool oh wait they killed you already.

Spiderman 3 is a rare life lesson in the value of the love that we all felt for Doc Oc.

ps Did Spidey really strike a pose in front of a giant cgi American flag while nyc firemen and transit workers stood and clapped at the base of a crumbling building? Sam Raimi noooo!! D:

映画の時

awwww yeah, what that says is Spider Man 3. I mean, what it actually says is `supaidaaman3`. Whatever, you get the point. It`s movie time.
(^_^)v
Today is Children's Day, one of the major Japanese holidays glommed together to form that great Voltron of recreation, Golden Week. The sound of taiko (btw. I love taiko) wafting over from Hakozaki Shrine roused me from apartment/post breakfast digesting/The Life of Pi, and I headed out to see what was up.

The spirit of taiko.

They were doing some sort of dance routine. It was adorable.

Oh-ho, you will not evade me with your ninja dodge!

Ladies.

Parents

A ninja street fight just waiting to happen!

maybe not..

This guy had nothing to do with Children's day. He's just kind of old, and his owner went to the trouble of posing him for me. Here's to old dogs everywhere.
